How To Be More Productive In A Lockdown

The One Year Rule

Ask yourself what you should start today that you would regret if you did not in a year. For example, what's a better thing to focus on today if I want to code better in one year. The answer is that it's probably better to write a few programs or watch a couple of tutorials about programming than spend a day watching Netflix.

The Daily Highlight

Every day we should have a single highlight that we're going to focus on. One thing that I want to get done today to make today a win. So this will point you in the right direction to start your day. During the day, you will know what's essential and what task you should be focusing on.

Write A To-Do List

Once we have a daily highlight, we should write a to-do list of the things we also want to get done today. It would help if you thought about a to-do list like obstacles that you're going to pass through – a series of things that you're going to achieve and get done. Brain dump (to get ideas off your chest) so we know what we need to get done.

Parkinson's Law

Parkinson's Law states that work expands to fill the time that we allocate to it. The more time we give ourselves to do something, the more time it will take. Put more things on your to-do list, so you will know that you have less time to do each task even if you don't do all of the tasks for that day. Limit your time.
