Own Your Email January 20, 2021 Technology I’ve read this post on r/Privacy, sometimes a toxic subreddit, but it got me thinking. The post is about a ProtonMail user who got his account suspended for no apparent reason, without any good explanation. I’m a ProtonMail user, but I’ve seen multiple cases of this behavior. I’m thinking about moving away from ProtonMail service. I have my email domain, so even if ProtonMail suspends my account, I can still access other internet accounts. It’s just something to think about when you’re so dependent on someone else. Dependency on systems doesn’t go just for email, but also other essential internet services. I think we can all remember that Google Photos is ending its unlimited storage soon. Taking control is now more critical than ever. My internet friend Jan is talking about email quite a lot on his blog, it’s worth checking. Tags: email decentralization
